The common types of zirconium rods can be classified from dimensions such as material composition, processing technology, and cross-sectional shape, as follows:
1、 Classified by material composition
Pure zirconium rod
Mainly composed of high-purity zirconium (99% -99.95%), such as Rz702 grade zirconium rod.
It has the characteristics of corrosion resistance and high melting point, and is suitable for fields such as nuclear industry and chemical industry.
Zirconium alloy rod
Improving performance by adding other elements such as tin, iron, etc. Common grades include 60702, 60705, 705, etc.
Alloying further enhances mechanical strength or high temperature resistance, and is commonly used in aviation, military and other scenarios.
2、 Classified by processing technology
Hot rolled zirconium rod: formed through high-temperature rolling process, suitable for conventional industrial needs.
Forged zirconium rod: After melting and forging processing, it has a dense structure and excellent mechanical properties.
Cold processed zirconium rod: improves surface accuracy through cold rolling or cold drawing processes, commonly used in precision device manufacturing.
3、 Classified by cross-sectional shape
Including circular, rectangular, square, hexagonal, etc., with specifications ranging from Φ 1- Φ 350mm and a length of up to 6000mm.
4、 Zirconia ceramic rod type (non-metallic)
Zirconia ceramic rods prepared by isostatic pressing process, mainly including:
Aluminum oxide type: high hardness, wear resistance, used for refractory materials and abrasives.
Aluminum disilicate type: Strong thermal stability and oxidation resistance, suitable for refractory bricks and structural ceramics.
Magnesium trisilicate type: low thermal conductivity, good insulation, used as insulation material for electronic components.
