The production process of zirconium wire!


Raw material preparation

Firstly, high-purity sponge zirconium is obtained from zirconium ore through a complex extraction process. This process includes multiple steps such as ore crushing, beneficiation, and smelting to remove impurities and obtain high-purity sponge zirconium, providing the basic raw materials for the subsequent production of zirconium wire.

Melting and Casting

Put sponge zirconium into professional melting equipment such as vacuum arc furnace or electron beam furnace for melting, and melt it into liquid zirconium. During the melting process, strict control of parameters such as temperature, time, and vacuum degree is maintained to ensure complete melting and uniform composition of zirconium. Subsequently, liquid zirconium is poured into a specific mold for casting, resulting in zirconium ingots.

Processing and Forming

Forging: Heating forging of zirconium ingots, improving the internal structure of zirconium through pressure processing, increasing its density and strength, making it easier for subsequent processing.

Pulling: After forging, zirconium material is gradually reduced in diameter to the desired wire size through multiple drawing processes. During the drawing process, it is necessary to use appropriate lubricants and drawing molds to ensure the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the zirconium wire.
